What is Visionary Craniosacral Work™?
Visionary Craniosacral Work™ incorporates deep presence, intuition, teachings of ritual, Shamanism and more with a gentle, hands-on approach supporting the nervous system, brain and spinal cord. With a light touch, a practitioner can gently evaluate various locations of the body to test for the ease of motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid. Soft-touch techniques and holds allow the client to unwind and release restrictions in any tissues influencing the craniosacral system. It aims to promote deep relaxation to relieve pain and dysfunction, improve whole body health/performance and foster an overall fluid sense of ease between body, mind and spirit. It can be used as a preventive health measure and is effective for a wide range of issues including headaches, neck/back pain, infant/childhood trauma, tinnitus and much more.
What Is Esalen Massage?
Well-known for long sweeping oiled strokes over the whole body and the full-hearted presence of its practitioners, Esalen massage helps still the mind and release the stresses of everyday life. The receiver is left feeling whole, integrated and deeply relaxed, in a natural state of well-being. The Esalen Massage is best described as the interface and integration of form, energy, structure, and soul. Specific requests and preferences can be addressed within the modality. With its nurturing contact, integrating strokes punctuated with deeper specific work, passive joint movement and detailed attention to the whole body, an Esalen Massage provides a state of deep relaxation and healing.
Wendy Faith was trained in Esalen massage at a 28-day residency program at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA. She also studied Meridian Massage which focuses on the meridians and certain accupressure points in the body. In addition, she was trained in Deep Tissue, focusing on the hips, shoulders and back. Wendy weaves these modalities into the Esalen massage framework in her sessions.
What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to feel alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words, Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. Therefore, Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It focuses on the root of the conditions rather than merely the symptoms. Its healing flow focuses on the needs of each recipient, promoting the body’s natural ability to heal. It also works in conjunction with other therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
We experience Reiki through relaxation, tuning in, softening, connecting to our inner world, connecting to our breath and just being. Reiki can manifest in us as health, unconditional love, compassion, understanding and vitality. It works on a level where there is potential for one’s life and the planet as a whole to be brought into harmony and balance.
